Easy Sausage and Cabbage

Let’s talk cabbage. Cabbage is one of my favorite vegetables. It is great raw or cooked, and is packed with vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants.

Cabbage is inexpensive and healthy. It is high in fiber, Vitamin K and Vitamin C. You can choose from red, purple, white, and green.

Cabbage is a relative of other delicious veggies like broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, and kale.

One of my favorite main dishes with cabbage is Smoked Sausage and Cabbage. It is so easy to make!

Directions: This isn’t so much a recipe as directions for making this awesome dish. Cut 12 to 14 ounces of smoked sausage or kielbasa. Put 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a skillet and cook the sliced smoked sausage until the fat is rendered out and it is slightly browned. Place the sausage in a Crockpot. Cut a cabbage into bite-sized pieces and place in the Crockpot on top of the sausage. Add salt and pepper to taste. If you like onion, add a few slices. Cook on low for about 6 hours. Don’t add water!

I like to serve this with boiled new potatoes.
